Mary Ellen Donnelly "Myrt" "Georgie" Liska, 77, of Vestal, died Thursday morning, October 3, 2002 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 21 years, John Liska; her parents, Nathan and Rose Kernan Donnelly; and her faithful companions, Pierre, Tootsie and Brandy. She is survived by her daughters, Carole Buckland, Binghamton, Judith Allen, Vestal; grandchildren, James, Kelly and Jeffrey Buckland, all of Binghamton, Robert and Bridget Allen, Tamara and Mark Richard, all of Endwell; great-grandchildren, Devon and Riley Buckland, Katie, Jon and Dylan Brandow, Whitney and Matthew Allen, Mark, Daniel and Zachary Richard; her sisters and brothers, Regina Pirich, Endwell, Nathan Donnelly, Nichols, Gerald Donnelly, Maine, J. Robert Donnelly, Vineland, N.J., R. Joyce Kalada, Binghamton, R. Patrick Donnelly, Brackney, Pa., Carole Margaret Kossakowski, Trenton, N.J.; several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was formerly employed at Endicott-Johnson Corp., Gagne's, Casey's Grove and the Broome County YMCA. During her husband's illness, Mary established a support group within the Multiple Sclerosis Society for family members affiliated with MS. She was a loving, caring friend to all who met her and will be remembered for her love of the Irish culture and a good party. The family would like to express their appreciation to the Lourdes Hospice Program and to Lori Vandermark, who made her last months comfortable. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Clark St., Vestal, Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Hospice Program, c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905, or Broome County Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 32 W. State St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901. Arrangements are by the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y.
