Obituary of Sophie E. Burke

Sophie E. Burke, 97, of Binghamton, died Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at the Ideal Living Center. She was predeceased by her husband, John Burke. She is survived by her children, Marilyn and Richard Wiselogel, Aptos, Calif., Barbara and James Edwards, Endwell, Richard and Margaret Burke, Johnson City, Robert and Sarah Burke, New Bern, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Sophie was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton for over 70 years and a member of the The St. John Vianney Club. She was a kind and loving lady in every way. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 8:30 a.m., and at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday, from 7 to 9 p.m.
