Obituary of Edward J. Monroe

Edward J. Monroe, 91, of Binghamton,
formerly of Schuyler Lake, N.Y., died Tuesday evening, October 15, 2002 at Our
Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Rose
Monroe; and an infant son, Edward Monroe. He is survived by his niece, Laura
Bishop, Barker, Ada Tow, N.C., Mary Miklinevich, Binghamton, Kay and Tim
Driscoll, Endwell; a nephew, Walter and June Deyo, Derry, N.H.; sister-in-law,
Regina Deyo, Binghamton. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church,
Binghamton, and retired from Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #112. He was
an accomplished writer and photographer and taught mechanics and was a writer
for Car and Driver Magazine. Funeral services will be held at the J.A.
McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday at 9 a.m. and at
9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be
offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will
receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.
