Obituary of Thomas Ward Giblin

Thomas Ward Giblin, 73, of Binghamton, passed away Saturday morning, May 5, 2001, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Ward was predeceased by his parents; brother, Robert; brothers-in-law, Burt Chamberlain and Francis Esworthy; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Giblin, Helen Giblin and Peg Esworthy. He is survived by his wife, Bette and their children, Thomas and Laura Giblin, Mark and Olga Giblin, Constance and Ronald Beard, Dennis and MaryBel Giblin, and Michelle Giblin; his grandchildren, Erica, Mark, Jr., Kevin and Brenna. His brothers and sisters and their spouses, Paul Giblin, Walter and Mary Ann Giblin, Genevieve and Thomas Sullivan, Edna and Grant Sullivan, Kenneth and Hazel Giblin, Ruth Chamberlain, Maureen and Edward Bradley, Kathryn and James Lynch, John and Mary Giblin, Raymond and Colleen Giblin; his wifes brothers and sister and their spouses. Joseph and Marilyn Esworthy, Helena Esworthy, Constance Esworthy, John Esworthy, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton. Ward was a retired Binghamton Police Officer, life member of the Knights of Columbus, Peter T. Campon Council # 206 and a Past Grand Knight and a member of many other organizations. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded the Bronze Star with a "V", the Purple Heart and CIB. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Church Tuesday at 11 a.m. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions sympathy in memory of Ward may be made to the Hospice Program or the Oncology Unit c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905. Arrangements are by the J.A.Mc Cormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y.
