Joseph E.
"Knobby" Walsh, 79, of Binghamton, died unexpectedly Thursday, April
19, 2001, at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Anna
Walsh; a sister, Dorothy Swank; brothers, Robert and Vincent Walsh; and his
loyal friend, Jack Shea. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Reardon Walsh, Binghamton;
niece, Carol Steffins, Johnson City; great niece, Susie and Mark Lozinak,
Vestal; tree great great nephews; a step daughter and spouse, Nancy and Joseph
Hrehor, Binghamton; grandchildren, Kevin Hrehor, Michael and Lisa Hrehor, Amy
and Mike Skinner, Timothy and Daniel Hrehor; a great grandchild, Mikayla
Hrehor; aunt, Irene O'Neil, Johnson City; and several cousins. He was a member
of St. Paul's Church, Binghamton; retired 30 year employee of the IBM
Corporation and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club; Coast Guard Veteran
of WWII of American Legion Post 1227 and V.F.W. Post 476; Member of the
Binghamton Elks B.P.O.E. #853 and member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Knobby will be remembered for his unwavering faith in God and prayers. He was a
caring, loving, spirited man whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of
family, friends and neighbors. Love You "Chicago". Funeral services
will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton,
Monday at 11:30 a.m. and at 12 Noon at St. Paul's Church, where a Funeral Mass
will be offered. Burail will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family
will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m.
