Obituary of H. Roberta Najarian

H. Roberta Macko Najarian, Binghamton, died Monday evening, April 16, 2001, at her home. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Michael Najarian, Binghamton; a son, Michael A. Najarian, Binghamton; a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Bill Burns, Johnson City; three grandchildren, Michael P. Najarian, Cynthia Najarian, Marisa Burns; one great-grandson, Joshua Najarian; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Robert Najarian, Pendleton, Oreg. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Binghamton, past President of the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 1254, and was very active in the First Ward Senior Citizen Center for many years. She was a retired 24 year employee of Columbian Mutual Life Insurance Co. A gentle, generous soul, giving of herself as well as earthly possessions. Her love of life was influenced by family and interests life offered. Gardening, opera and the arts were her primary passions. We will miss her but she is not gone. Her gentle spirit lives in eternity. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St. Binghamton, Thursday at 10:30 a.m., and at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered by the Rev. John E. Mikalajunas. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Thursday, from 9 until 10:30 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Roberta may be made to the Hospice Program c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
