Obituary of Jack M. Tucker

Rev.
Jack M. Tucker, Sr., 74, of Binghamton, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday
morning, January 31, 2001. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years,
Shirley Hodson Tucker. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth
and Dr. F. Keith Kennedy, Binghamton; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack M. and
Judy Rogers Tucker, Apalachin; daughter, Judy and Denny Bishop, Windsor; his
grandchildren, Thomas Patrick Donahue, Jr., Scott Jason and Amy Kathleen
Donahue, Tricia Lynn Tucker, Erika Leigh Tucker, Terri Culverwell, Tammy
McKernan, Michael Schrader, Kathleen Kennedy Tappen, Christopher Kennedy, David
Kennedy; 11 great-grandchildren. Rev. Tucker was Pastor Emeritus of the Faith
Christian Fellowship Church, Apalachin. He was a graduate of Boston University
School of Theology with a degree in Divinity, served the United Methodist
Church for 29 years, and was Pastor of Faith Christian Fellowship Church for 10
years, retiring in 1991. He also served as Pastor of Warren Center United
Methodist Church. In 1964, while serving as Pastor of the Windsor United
Methodist Church, he marched in Selma, Alabama with the late Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr., and was a correspondent for the Press & Sun-Bulletin. He was a
Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy. Funeral services will be
held at the Faith Christian Fellowship Church, corner of Beach Rd. and
Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, Friday at 1 p.m. Pastor Eugene "Pete"
Darling will officiate. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Windsor, in the
Spring. The family will receive friends at the Faith Christian Fellowship
Church, Friday, from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Expressions of
sympathy in memory of Rev. Tucker may be made to Faith Christian Fellowship
Church, 27 Beach Rd., Apalachin, N.Y. 13732. Arrangements are by the J.A.
McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y.
