Michael

Aftuck, 59, of Binghamton, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, January 7,

2001, at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was

predeceased by his parents, Edgar M. and Margaret Gorman Aftuck. He is survived

by his Heartsweet, Cindy L. Nord; a grandson Michael Aftuck; his sons, Michael,

Edward and James; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Samuel Manning,

Johnson City; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Catherine Aftuck; New

Smyrna Beach, Fla.; his aunt, Mrs. Dorothy Gorman, Binghamton; nieces and

nephews, Michael Manning, Ashland, Va., David Manning, Binghamton; Martin

Aftuck, Catie Aftuck, Donna Aftuck, Alex Aftuck, all of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

He was a member of St. Pauls Church, Binghamton and attended St. Pauls School

and was honorably discharged from the United States Marines after serving for

six years. He was a member of International Laborers Union Local #7, Binghamton

and worked in the Heavy Highway department of Local 7 Supervision on numerous

Highway projects in the Northeast. He was a member of A & G Sportsman for

33 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with many of his lifelong friends. He

also was an avid Nascar Racing fan. Funeral Services will be held at the J. A.

Mc Cormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

and at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive

friends at the Mc Cormack Funeral Home, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mike may be made to the Hospice program

c/o Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
