Obituary of Mary Rita “Rita” Quinlivan

Rita
Quinlivan, 66, of Binghamton, died Saturday afternoon, November 25, 2000 at
Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was
predeceased by her parents, Harold Connor, Rosella Connor and Alice Connor. She
is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Quinlivan, Binghamton; her children,
Patrick and Johanne Quinlivan, Endwell, John and Heidi Quinlivan, Rochester,
Mary and John Sada, Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kathleen, Sean, Paul and
Daniella; sisters-in-law, Louise Quinlivan, Delray Beach, Fla., Frances
Quinlivan, Endicott; nephew, Matthew Quinlivan; niece, Michelle Quinlivan;
several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. She was a member of St.
Rita's Church, Chenango Forks; past President of the Altar-Rosary Society; and
taught CCD at St. Rita's. She taught art, crafts, and quilting at Broome
Community College and taught art at St. Patrick's Academy. She was a member of
the Monday Afternoon Club and was a partner in Rosecrest Crafts, Hillcrest. She
enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, and traveling. Rita's motto was "live
life, laugh often, love much!"
Funeral
services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street,
Binghamton, Thursday at 8:45 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rita's Church where a
Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Wednesday from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Rita may be made to
the American Diabetes Association, 356 N. Midler Avenue, Syracuse, N.Y. 13206
or the Leukemia Society, Central N.Y. Chapter, 847 James St., Syracuse, N.Y.
