Obituary of Elma Essie Ya Deau

Essie Ya Deau, 88, of Johnson City, formerly of Elizabethtown, Pa. and Leonia,
N.J., died Tuesday afternoon, November 7, 2000 at the James G. Johnston
Memorial Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Ya Deau;
and her sister, Elizabeth Rena Brown. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law,
Karen and Pastor Dave Sanford, Rochester; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr.
William Ronald and Lois Ya Deau, Decatur, Ill.; three grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; a brother, Rev. Dr. Wilmot and Lenore Mather, Waverly; and
two nephews. She was a member of the Conklin Avenue-First Baptist Church,
Binghamton, and participated in many activities sponsored by the Arrowhead
Ministries.
Funeral
services will be held at the Conklin Avenue-First Baptist Church, corner of
Conklin Avenue and Baldwin Street, Binghamton, Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Rev.
James E. Horton, Jr., interim pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Hershey
Cemetery, Hershey, Pa., on Monday. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m.
A Memorial service for Essie will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Hilltop
Retirement Center. Rev. W. Lea Harding will officiate. Expressions of sympathy
in memory of Essie may be made to the Conklin Avenue-First Baptist Church, 91 Baldwin
Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13903
