Ryan, Mary M. Binghamton: Mary M. Ryan, 66 of Binghamton died Monday, December 17, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Jeremiah and Peg Sheehan Ryan, her sister, Kathleen Ryan and brother-in-law, John McMahon. She is survived by her brother and sisters, Thomas and Susan Ryan, Burlington, NC., Betsy Ryan, Charlotte, NC, Peggy McMahon Paoletti and Michael Paoletti, Binghamton; her nieces and nephews, Thomas and Lauren Ryan, Molly Ryan, Michael Kozel, Christopher Kozel, Katie Kozel, Ryan and Mindy McMahon, Meghan and Jonathan Gowen; great nieces, Morgan McMahon, Grace Ryan. Mary was born in Binghamton December 18, 1946. She graduated from Catholic Central High School Class of 1964, where she served as Senior Class President. She graduated from Buffalo General Hospital with a degree in Nursing. Her professional nursing career included her serving as a Pediatric Staff Nurse at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detriot, a staff nursing position at BOCES and other nursing positions. Mary was employed by the State of New York Safety Inspection service for a number of years. Mary obtained a bachelor's degree in Art at SUNY Binghamton. She was a talented lyricist with published works. Her creativity supported the area festival "Yagatta Regatta". Most notably Mary was known for her service to others in need. She will be remembered as a high energy, cherry individual who brightened any room she stepped into. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lourdes Hospital for their most exceptional and extrodinary care of Mary. A Memorial Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Leroy and Oak Streets, Binghamton Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church Friday from 9a.m. until 10 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mary may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 457 State St. Binghamton, NY 13901.
