Peter W. Crossley Obituary

Peter W. Crossley, 72, of Binghamton,

died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, October 25, 2000 at Wilson Memorial

Regional Medical Center. He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and

Marjorie Crossley. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Minerva

"Binnie" Crossley, Binghamton; two daughters and son-in-law, Sally

Crossley and Edward Marra, Binghamton, Cynthia Crossley, Boston, Mass.; a son,

Peter Crossley, Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren, Benjamin and Laura; two

brothers, J. Richard and Katherine Crossley, Seattle, Wash., Anthony and

Marilyn Crossley, Mahwah, N.J.; a sister, Pamela and Robert Faulkner,

Barrington, R.I.; his mother-in-law, Minerva George, Johnson City; several

nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of Trinity Memorial Episcopal

Church, Binghamton, and the Binghamton Club. Peter was retired President of

A.C. Crossley and Sons Lumber Co. in Susquehanna, Pa., graduated from

Binghamton Central High School and from Yale University in 1948, and received

his M.A. from Binghamton University in 1963. He was a member of the National

Hardwood Lumber Association and after retirement, was a tax consultant for H

& R Block. Peter hated being indoors and was happiest in the woods.






Funeral services will be held at

Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, 44 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday at 3 p.m.

Rev. Noreen P. Suriner, his Rector, and Rev. Ralph Johnson will co-officiate.

Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive

friends in the Hoyt Room of Trinity Church Friday, from 1 p.m. until service

time at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Peter

may be made to any charitable organization. Arrangements are by the J.A.

McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, N.Y.
