Obituary of Anthony J. Capozzi

Anthony J. Capozzi, 66, of Vestal, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 23, 2001. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Borovicka Capozzi; his parents, Michael and Josephine Capozzi; and his sister, Louise Capozzi. He is survived by two sisters and brother-in-law, Joanne and Rudy Pucek, Binghamton, Sylvia Murcko, Binghamton; nieces and nephews, Joanne Pucek; Michael and Michele Pucek, Mary Beth and Mark Walsh, Mark Murcko, Karen Murcko; great nieces and nephews, Lauren Pucek, Jessica Pucek,Derrick Pucek, Zachary and Alexander Walsh; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dolores O'Donnell, Carol and Anthony Martinichio, John Borovicka, Mark Borovicka; several cousins, aunts, uncles and god-children. Tony was a member and usher at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton; graduate of St. Bonaventure University; retired 35 year Employee of the IBM Corporation and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He received numerous patent awards at IBM and was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Czechoslovak Moravian Club. He was also an avid golfer and member of The Heritage Club. Tony was a second father and grandfather to his nieces and nephews; best brother and brother-in-law in the world and a friend to all. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Tony may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905 or St. Cyril's Church Hall Improvement Fund, 148 Clinton St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
