William
J. L. Wagner, 94, formerly of Binghamton, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at
the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Erie, Pa. He was predeceased by his wife,
Catherine Rodgers Wagner; two brothers, Fred and John Wagner; and sisters,
Hazel O'Grady and Mary La Porte. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Leo
(Esther) Buryanek, Indianapolis, Indiana, Mrs. William (Helen) Dimick, Owego,
Mrs. Donald (Betty) Woodell, Erie, Pa., with whom he lived; several nieces and
nephews. He was a member of St. Christopher's Church, Binghamton; Air Force
Veteran of WWII and a member of Johnson City American Legion Post #758. He
worked as a film inspector for the G.A.F. Corp. retiring in 1972 after 22 years
of service. He was born in Owego, on August 10, 1907, the son of the late, John
J. and Ethel L. McIntyre Wagner. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. A Funeral Mass
will be offered at St. Christopher's Church, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will
be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the
J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday from 2 to 5
p.m.
