William M. Tyne, 76, of Binghamton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 12, 2002 as the result of an automobile accident. He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Guthrie Tyne; and a sister, Coletta Lesch. He is survived by a sister, Olive C. Purtell, Binghamton; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Binghamton. A retired employee of the G.A.F. Corporation and past business agent for the Chemical Workers of America. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion Post 1645 and member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Funeral services will be held at theJ. A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Monday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
