James T. Martin Obituary

James T. Martin, 88, of Johnson City,

formerly of Binghamton, died Friday morning, February 22, 2002 at James G.

Johnston Memorial Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia M.

Kirby. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marian Mee Martin, Johnson City;

his daughter and son-in-law, Eleanor and John L. Gormly, Binghamton, Two

grandchildren, Virginia J. Gormly, Endwell, John J. Gormly, Rochester; many

dear friends. Jim was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. He

attended St. Patrick's Academy and graduated from Binghamton Central High

School. He was a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Peter

T. Campon Council #206. He was president of the NYS Car Wash Association and

operated Jim Martin's Garage for over 50 years and was a member of the Ancient

Order of Hibernians. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons

Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday at 9 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. at

St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in

St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the

McCormack Funeral Home Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions

of sympathy in memory of Jim may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration

Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
