Obituary of Elizabeth A. Almy

Elizabeth "Betty" Agnes Almy, 85, of Citrus Springs, Fla., formerly of Harpursville and Port Crane, died peacefully at home after a brief illness. She was predeceased by a daughter, Helen Regina Almy, in September 1960, her parents, Christopher J. and Mary G. Kenny McGlynn, and a sister, Marie Bokol, in March 1988. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, Lawrence William Almy, Citrus Springs, Fla. Elizabeth is the loving mother of Mary Elizabeth Cote, Newark, Del.; David Lawrence Almy, Hopkington, Mass., Michael William Almy, Binghamton, Thomas Jerome Almy, Leesburg, Fla. She was the caring grandmother of Christopher Almy, Jessica Almy, Kevin Almy, Amy Matiska, Sharon Brandt, Angela Almy, Joseph Almy, Nicholas Almy. She was cherished by her great grandchildren, Zachary Almy, Meghan Matiska, Gavin Brandt, Jadon Brandt; her brother, John McGlynn, Kissimmee, Fla.; and her sister, Jean Keppeler, Zephyrhills, Fla. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Sanitaria Springs and a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the Secular Order of Franciscans, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Women's Guild, Catechist of Young Children, and Eucharistic Minister to the sick. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Joseph's Church, 659 NY Rt. 7, Sanitaria Springs, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
