Obituary of Marguerite D. Bradley

Marguerite D. Bradley, 101 years old, of Binghamton, died peacefully, Saturday, November 16, 2002. She was born January 6, 1901, and was predeceased by her husband, Alexander D. Bradley; a son-in-law, Walter Oldham; and her parents, Michael and Elizabeth Flanagan Shanley. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Alexander and Ruth Bradley, Calif., Edward and Maureen Bradley, Binghamton; a daughter, Patricia Oldham, R.I.; 17 grandchildren, Kevin, Kathryn, Jerome, Bridget, Eileen, Monica, Margo, Marie, Kathleen, Suzanne, Joan, Alex, Jenifer, Walter, Margaret, Marybeth and Robert; 21 great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Marion Rogan. Marguerite was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. She graduated from Whitney Point High School and Syracuse University in 1925. She was a member of Theta Phi Alpha at Syracuse University. She taught home economics in the Binghamton School System for 25 years. She was a member of the N.Y.S. retired teachers association and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She touched the lives of all who knew her in her 101 years. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Louise Manor for their loving care and also the staff at Lourdes Hospital during her brief stay. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Tuesday, at 9 a.m., and at 9:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Mass Cards or a charity of one's choice.
