Margaret D. Raymond Newman, a resident of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Hillcrest, died Tuesday afternoon, November 19, 2002 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret M. and T. Hiram Dempsey; her husband, J. Stuart Raymond; her aunt, Nora J. Dempsey; her brothers, James F. Dempsey and his wife Mary Grace Dempsey, and Timothy J. Dempsey. She is survived by her husband, Howard E. Newman Sr., Hillcrest; stepchildren, Larry Newman and wife Darlene, Lynn Svarney and husband Robert, Binghamton, Howard E. Newman Jr., Apalachin; her nephew, Timothy J. Dempsey Jr. and his wife Barbara, Mundelein Lane, Ill. and his daughter Sarah Dempsey, Binghamton; her niece, Mary Anne Gadlewski and her husband John, Erie, Pa. and her children Peter, Stefanie and Laura; nephew, Dennis J. Dempsey, Esq. Cranford, N.J. and New York City and his children, David and Sara; also a sister-in-law, Mary M. Dempsey, Binghamton; and a special friend, Patricia Connors. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Hillcrest. She was a retired Legal Accountant with the Law Firm of Hinman, Howard & Kattell after 45 years of service. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Binghamton #237 and a member of the Lourdes Hospital Auxiliary. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
