Richard (Dick) P. Quinlivan, of Binghamton passed away on May 29, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Richard is survived by his wife of 10 years, Phyllis and predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Rita. He is also survived by his sons, Patrick (Johanne) Quinlivan, John (Heidi) Quinlivan; daughter, Mary Sada; and step daughter, Michelle (Fran) Haus; grandchildren, Kathleen Quinlivan, Sean Quinlivan, Paul Quinlivan and Daniella Sada; his sister, Louise Quinlivan; sister-in-law, Fran Quinlivan; niece, Michele Mullen; nephew, Matt (Audrey) Quinlivan; and many cousins. Predeceased by his parents, Paul and Marjorie Quinlivan; and brother, Michael Quinlivan. Dick was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute ('59) and Cornell University ('61). He served our country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force (Retired). He worked at General Electric and its successors (Martin Marietta, Lockhead Martin, BAE Systems) for 40 years. He was the owner of RPQ Technical Services from 2006 to 2015. He was very well respected in the Aircraft Flight Control industry and was awarded four US Patents for his work. Dick was a competitive pistol shooter for 60 years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time in the Adirondacks with his family. He and Phyllis enjoyed many cruises together. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Chenango Street, Hillcrest on Monday at 10am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton on Sunday from 2-5pm. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dick may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY 13903 or Camp Stella Maris, 4395 E. Lake Road, Livonia, NY 14487.
