Obituary of Warren G. Smith

Warren G. Smith, 91 of Binghamton died Sunday October 19, 2014 at Good Shepherd Village. He was predeceased by a son, Mark Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Peg Smith; his children, Christopher and Angela Smith, Anne and Pat Gleason, Cynthia Smith, Warren and Maria Smith, Meg Smith, Stevie Smith, Suzy and Brent Kitchen, John and Andrea Smith, Matt and Ashley Smith, Chip Smith; 22 grandchildren who were his pride and joy, 12 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II and a B-26 Captain and Pilot and a member of the B-26 Marauder Historical Society. Warren was a retired Director of Purchasing for Rochester General Hospital. He enjoyed skiing, making maple syrup and fishing and camping. Special thanks to the staff at Good Shepherd Village for the extraordinary care given to Warren and Peg. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton Saturday at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery, Binghamton at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905
