Obituary of Helen P. Papastrat

Dr. Helen P. Papastrat, 56 of Vestal, died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her home after an illness. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter H. and Mary A. Papastrat. She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane Papastrat. Helen was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School, Class of 1976, Cornell University, Class of 1980 and New York Medical College in 1985 where she received top honors from the American Women's Medical Society. Helen helped many people, and she enjoyed being a Psychiatrist. She was an avid quilt maker. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 214 Court St., Binghamton Saturday at 10 a.m. Rev. Fr. Michael Bahlatzis will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m
