Obituary of Mary J. Shoemaker

Mary Jane Shoemaker, 80 of Kirkwood, died Friday June 20, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband Donald L. Shoemaker, Sr. She is survived by her children, Donald L. Shoemaker, Jr., James and Bridget Shoemaker, Lori and Hugh Simpson, Terry and Paul Suarez, Becky and Jack Diffendorf; her grandchildren, Paula, Dan, Paddy, Kevin, Mike, Hannah, Cassie, Heather, Amanda, Stacey, Jessica and Benjamin; nine great grandchildren. Mary was an avid FOX News and Weather Channel follower and enjoyed talking politics. She was famous for her Christmas cookies and had a generous nature to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home 141 Main Street, Binghamton Monday at 1 p.m. Reverend Diane Prentice, pastor of the Kirkwood United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Kirkwood Cemetery, Kirkwood. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Monday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mary may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
