Kathryn M. Gallagher Grace, 93, of Binghamton died Friday evening May 9th, 2014 at the James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years William P. Grace; her parents John and Elizabeth Gallagher; two brothers, Richard and Jack Gallagher and a sister, Alma Gallagher. She is survived by her children, Bill and Nancy Grace; Jerry and Nancy Grace; Mary Beth Grace and Kate Kosewic; Patti Ann and Mickey McNamara; her grandchildren, Kelly and Kevin Ford, Kevin and Megan Grace, Aimee and Melanie Grace, Sean and Maggie McNamara; and her great-grandson Connor Lannon Ford and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear and close friends. Kay was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Binghamton where she served as Parish Secretary for over 30 years. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Ladies of Charity, Fatima Club and Franciscan Associates. She was an all-star athlete at Holy Spirit High School in Atlantic City, excelling in basketball and swimming. She was offered the role performing in the The World Famous Steel Pier Diving Horse Show in Atlantic City. She was a USO volunteer at St. Nick's in Atlantic City where she met Corporal Bill Grace during WWII. Upon their marriage they moved to Binghamton and raised their family. She was a devoted wife, mother and MomMom. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hilltop Campus and Dr. Gawel. "Live, Love, Laugh!" A Funeral Mass will be offered at St., Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Kay may be made to A Room to Heal, PO Box 503, Vestal, NY 13850.
