Obituary of Sterling Kilts

Kilts, Sterling E. Binghamton: Sterling E. Kilts, 79, of Binghamton, died Monday evening, October 15, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, Storme Kilts and Meta Kilts Keefe; and a sister, Joyce Whipple. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Klepfer Kilts, Binghamton; his children, Cynthia Kilts Pulling, Binghamton, Suzanne Kilts and partner Donna Samis, Ithaca, Michelle Malak and partner George Eisenlohr, SC, Douglas and Vera Kilts, Binghamton; 9 grandchildren, Michael and Heather Montross, Nicholas and Tia Pulling, Jordan and Tiffany Ciancio, Megan and Casey Smith, Kate, Joshua, Mikayla, Alexandra, Chelsea; 3 great-grandchildren, Cole, Ava and Jace; brother-in-law, Robert Whipple; and several nieces and nephews and longtime friend, Tom Yager. He was a member of the Valley Christian Reformed Church, Kattelville. Sterling retired from Canny Trucking and Howards Express. He was an avid hunter, member of the Sandy Pond Sportsman's Association, and a 56-year member of the Willow Pt. Manor at Sandy Pond. He was a NASCAR fan and loved animals and enjoyed country music. He was a member of VFW Post 478. Sterling enjoyed having a cocktail or two at one of his local establishments. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Friday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Sterling may be made to the Humane Society, 3 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13903.
