Obituary of Richard O'Boyle

Richard J. O'Boyle, 79 of Brackney, PA died Thursday March 27, 2014 at his home. He was predeceased by his infant triplet daughters, his parents Richard and Savina O'Boyle and a sister, Roseann DeSilva. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Kay O'Boyle; his children, Karen and Mike Barrie, Mary and John Haigh, Richard O'Boyle, who showed such care and devotion, Molly and Mike Riordan; nine grandchildren, Sean, Michelle, Jesse, Jenny, Tai, Dick, Chloe, Flinn, Max; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Patricia Fallon; his brother, William and Mary O'Boyle; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church, Silver Lake, PA. Dick was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and served on the Presidential Honor Guard. He retired from Local 112 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union and was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and American Legion Post 1227. Special thanks to Theresa for the wonderful care given to Dick, and to the other aides who touched our lives. Thank you to the nurses of the Sacred Heart. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Augustine's Church, Silver Lake, PA Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Dick may be made to Choconut Valley Youth Athletic Association.
