Obituary of Francis X. Fehrenbach
Please share a memory of Francis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Francis (Frank) Fehrenbach age 90, born in Philadelphia, PA on October 30, 1934 went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2024. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary (O'Brien) Fehrenbach. He is survived by his brother Joseph (Evelyn) Fehrenbach, and their five daughters Mary (Jeffrey) Bellis, Christine (Daniel) Whittaker, Nancy (Daryn) Evans, Samantha (Patrick) Tobin, and Jo Ann (Victor) Cardwell, along with 7 great nieces, 1 great nephew and 2 great- great nephews.
Frank served in the US Army for two years, after which he obtained an Electrical Technician degree from the Cherry Hill Electrician School. He relocated to Highland, NY where he worked at IBM Poughkeepsie for 28 + years until retiring. He was a devout Catholic and son, attending mass daily and visiting his father every weekend for many years until his father's passing.
Frank was an avid crossword and Sudoku player, always challenging his mind by keeping up with the daily puzzles. He was a lifelong outdoorsman. He had a deep love of nature, where he spent countless hours, walking, hiking, target practicing, and hunting. He fancied himself as woodsman, taking joy in chopping down dying trees and splitting them into firewood. He especially enjoyed spending time in St. Mary's, PA, where the Fehrenbach family was from and where they owned a family camp. Frank and Joe made many fond memories there together, playing with cousins and visiting their many aunts and uncles. Frank will be deeply missed.
A special thank you to the staff at Elderwood Assisted Living (formerly Woodland Manor) and Elizabeth Church Manor for the care they provided Frank. A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary's, PA in June of 2025.
