Donald Puglisi Obituary
Donald Puglisi passed away on December 6, 2024. He was predeceased by wife, Roberta, his parents Dominick Puglisi and Josephine DeScipio Puglisi, his brothers Richard, Robert, Bernard and Edwin, sisters Dian Fabian and JoAnn Malinowski, and most recently, his precious grandson Matthew Porcino, and beloved daughter Carol Porcino, and many other in-laws that were special to him.
He is survived by his loving daughters Susan (Bob) Pastor, Brenda Schaar, and Lori (John) Flynn and son-in-law Marty Porcino. He is also survived by his very special grandsons Scott (Sarah) Schaar, Robert (fiancée Molly) Pastor, Nick Pastor, Connor (Ashley) Flynn, Donovan (fiancée Nathalie) Flynn, Evan Flynn and great grandchildren Winston Schaar and Emma Flynn. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law David (Nancy) Chura, Tony Fabian and Larry Malinowski, and sister-in-law Mary Ann Puglisi, and numerous nieces & nephews who he enjoyed spending time with.
Donald was born in Binghamton, New York on January 26, 1931, and graduated from North High School. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and worked on the Apollo 13 simulator during his career at Singer Link. He was a member of several printing organizations, the Abruzzese Club, Sons of Italy and Thursday Night Cooking Club. He was an avid winemaker and enjoyed sharing his craft with his many wonderful friends.
After his employment with Singer Link, Don started his own business, Imperial Printing with childhood friend, Connie Mastrogiovanni. Later he bought Johnson City Publishing Company and employed more than 50 people. He was a true entrepreneur. Special thanks to all those who shared his hobbies and helped with his care.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent dePaul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road in Vestal on Thursday December 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
