Michael J. Esworthy Obituary
Michael John (Bengy) Esworthy, 73, of Binghamton, New York, went to Heaven peacefully on December 2, 2024, with his family by his side. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Marilyn Esworthy, brother Kevin Esworthy, and brother-in-law Charles Warren.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristin (Howard) Caldwell and Michelle Esworthy (boyfriend Nate), and by his son, Michael Esworthy II; grandchildren Jordin, Nikolas, Kai, Brenin, Quintin, Julian, Jadyn, Hunter, and Kayla; siblings Cheryl White, Joseph (Charlotte) Esworthy, Maureen Warren, John (Nancy) Esworthy, Thomas (Winnie) Esworthy, and Mary Kay (Michael) Stiles, sister in law, Terese Esworthy; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Michael graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1970. An accomplished and respected electrician, he was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 325. He also worked for Federal Express for a number of years. He loved nature and the outdoors, particularly wildflowers. He spent many happy hours hunting and gardening. Michael was a devout Catholic and regularly attended Mass at St. James Church and Adoration at St. Patrick's Church.
Michael dedicated his life to helping others in need. He was a kind and loving son, brother, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor. Although hearts are heavy, the "Ezzy" family looks forward to the day we will be reunited.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, corner of Oak and Leroy Streets, Binghamton, Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, Pa. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church, Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 9 a.m. until Mass time at 10 a.m.
Expressions of sympathy in Michael's memory may be made to the World Wildlife Fund or Outreach Ministries Of The Southern Tier at St. Cyril's Church, 148 Clinton Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
