Obituary of Ardith M. Mantas
Please share a memory of Ardith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ardith (Ardie) Mantas passed on November 3, 2024, at the age of 80. She passed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loved ones. She fought her short battle of lung cancer courageously, fearlessly, with good spirits and an optimistic attitude.
Ardie leaves behind a loving family, the love of her life, husband Billy ("The Greek") Mantas; daughters Tammy (Art) Hujar, Marie "Sissy" (Jim Brush), and Susie (Steve "Gator") Gates; grandchildren Jessica Gates, Ray (Natalie) Orcutt, and Tami (Bryan) Whiting. She was also a great-grandmother to Emma Whiting, Isabella Orcutt, and Ellianna Orcutt. Gramy had a very special relationship with her granddaughter Jessie Gates! Even with Jessie away at college they still had time to talk many times a day they shared a very special bond and Gramy was extremely proud of her. She also leaves behind her dear friend Howie Brown, along with many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends, who will also hold her memory dear.
She had a successful career as a long-time appraiser before founding her own appraisal business, AM Appraisals. And always was a part of Tom & Marty's.
Everyone knew Ardie for her upbeat personality, kindness and Fiery spirit. She always had a grin that spread to her ears and a contagious laugh that lit up the room. To know her was to love her. You could usually find Ardie and her side kick Greek at "The Greeks" or known as Tom & Marty's, her favorite place Cayuga Lake or in Fort Lauderdale, FL always with fun times to be had. No matter where you saw them you were sure to have a great time.
Ardie will be deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.
The family would like to Thank Hospice especially her nurse Mary and aide Kim.
The family will have a private burial. Please join us for a Celebration of Life at My Uncles place on Wednesday November 27, 2024 from 2-5pm. Come with a smile and many fun stories to be told.
