It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Ann Stephenson of Binghamton. Kathleen lost her long and courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday October 9, 2024. She was predeceased by her father James Stephenson.
She is survived by her son Griffin Stephenson and his partner Brandie Ward. Her mother Ann Stephenson and her partner George Yesensky, Her brother Steve Stephenson, her nephew Kenneth James (K.J.) Stephenson, mother Jennifer Connor. Her Loving "Outlaws" Jim and Judi Griffin. Her special friend Maci Kodama (Getchell).
Kathleen recently retired after 24 years of service at Broome-Tioga BOCES where she worked in a variety of roles. Additionally she worked for a number of years at Lourdes as an RN on the Labor and Delivery floor assisting new mothers and babies. She was a volunteer with the Southern Tier Earth Day Committee.
As much as Kathleen would protest that she did not like people. She was the most generous, caring, and compassionate person we have ever known. Often taking in Strays of any sort. She was an avid reader, loved to play games, and work out puzzles.
At this time the family would like to Thank her long time Doctor Steven L Spivak, Dr. Rachel Grisham and the staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Broome Oncology, the staff and caregivers at Mercy House. No funeral or memorial service is planned at Kathleen's request.
