Bernard W. Eggleston Obituary

Our beloved brother, Bernard "Bernie" William Eggleston, 68, earned his heavenly wings on September 17, 2024. Bernie had an encyclopedic memory of all things "southside", the Detroit Tigers, and little-known facts about anything and everything. Don't worry he took your secrets with him. He was a devoted churchgoer and never missed Sunday mass or funerals. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Catherine Eggleston, sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Buster Fiacco, brother Peter Eggleston, and nephew Paddy Shoemaker. He is survived by his siblings, Michael (Margo) Eggleston, Mary Ellen (David) Goetz, Bridget (James) Shoemaker, Dan (Cathy) Eggleston, and sister-in-law Danita Fiacco. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Jean and William Burtis, as well as 21 nieces and nephews, and 19 great nieces and nephews, and many cousins, and loving lifelong friends. A funeral mass will be celebrated on his birthday, Wednesday October 16, 2024 at Saints John and Andrews Church at 10 am. Thank you to everyone who was kind to Bernie during his lifetime.
