Maria is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth Evans. Their sons Todd (Eileen) Evans of Binghamton, NY , Scott (Adriana) Evans of Vestal, NY and Eric (Kristen) Evans of Endicott, NY. Her brother Jim (Annette) Testani of Johnson City, NY. Brother in-law Edward (Barbara) Evans of Bluffton, SC and sister in-law Patricia Evans of Binghamton, NY. Seven grandchildren, Paige (Tyler) Kempton of Fuquay-Varina, NC. Vincent (Lauren) Evans of Garner, NC. Alexandra Evans of NYC, NY, Nicholas Evans of Vestal, NY, Jonathan Hoyt of St. Petersburg, FL, Gabriella Evans and Sabrina Evans of Endicott, NY. As well as her first grand child, Lenora Kempton of Furquay-Varina, NC. Maria is also survived by many cousins and nieces and nephews. Maria was from Binghamton, NY and graduated from Binghamton North High School in 1962 with her husband to be. They were voted the class "Ideal Couple" and remained that for 61 years. Maria was devoted to her husband and three sons, three daughter in laws, seven grandchildren and her first great-grand child. For years we had Sunday dinners at our home, fifteen sat around our dining room table. The grandchildren would run in, "are we having meatballs and chocolate cake?". For 34 years, Christmas Eve was at our home and the last gift the grandchildren would open was a pair of matching pajamas. Her greatest enjoyment and pride was raising her three sons. Maria was meant to be a mother, they were her pride and joy. Maria's first job was at NYS DOT and after her sons were born she worked at Binghamton University and then retired from NYSEG. Maria was a member of Columbiettes of Delray Beach for many years. She was a volunteer at Binghamton General Hospital, she then opened her beauty shop in our home while raising our sons. Maria and Ken were fortunate to have experienced many cruises to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Italy and other European countries. They drove cross country to California and spent 22 years mostly as snow birds in Pompano Beach and Boynton Beach, FL. But most importantly, Maria was a loving wife, devoted to her sons, daughter in laws, grandchildren, family members and all those who she came into contact with. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in Maria's name to Danielle House, 160 Riverside Drive Binghamton, NY, 13905.
