Obituary of Kathleen M. Murphy

Kathleen Murphy, formerly of Binghamton, NY, died Saturday, February 22, 2014, in her home in Hickory, NC at the age of 93. She was surrounded by family and died peacefully. Mrs. Murphy was born May 1, 1920 in Lock Haven, PA to the late Emma Maloney Kerr and Wesley Kerr and was predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Murphy. She is survived by four sons and two daughters-in-law, James F. Murphy of Chester, VA, Patrick A. Murphy of Holland Patent, NY, Cary R. Murphy and wife Karen Murphy of Hickory, NC, and Mark J. Murphy and wife Teresa Murphy of Vero Beach, FL; as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Saturday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Kathleen may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
