Binghamton: Michael J. Haley, 72, of Binghamton, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was predeceased by his son, Eric J. Haley, in March 2013; his parents, Joseph and Anna Kacer Haley. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Kay (Hawley) Haley; a son, Michael Haley (Mary and Brianna); daughter, Colleen and Dan Driscall; grandson, Will Driscall; his sisters, Jo-Ann Haley, Barbara and Bob Hagen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Tom Heslin, Jan Toolan and Gary Gaddis, John and Robyn Hawley, Michael Hawley; several nieces and nephews and many close friends and racing buddies. He was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, and a graduate of St. Patrick's Academy Class of 1960. Mike was a retired employee of the Pepsi Cola Co. and a proud member of Teamsters Union Local 693 and served as union Steward for several years. He was also a 10-year employee of Dairlea Milk Co. His greatest joys in life were his family, rock & roll, porch parties, and drag racing with his son Michael. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Patrick's Church, Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Mike may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, NY 13905.
