On August 8, 2024, Agnes Horney, 99, of Johnson City, NY, entered the gates of heaven and into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior. Those (including their families) who had the privilege of sharing in her daily life, include her loving nieces and nephews (Linda Weiss, Trish Weiss, Cathy Compton, Diane Rossiter, John Sullivan, Joanie Joyce, and Mary Francis Charsky, as well as her cousin Mary Ann Iandoli, sister-in-law Jeanne Compton and the devoted family of her best friend Ann Sheredy. The family wishes to thank all of Agnes' dear family and friends for showering her with love, phone calls, visits, memories, songs and smiles during her last few days with us, and contributing to a beautiful celebration of her life. All who ever met Agnes knew of her unwavering faith, selflessness, commitment to serving others, and love of animals/children/poor and needy. She leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, as well as a lasting legacy of what it means to be a true follower of Christ. Her loved ones wish to thank BGH Palliative Care and Mercy House for the wonderfully compassionate care that they gave to her. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Cyril & Methodius Church, 148 Clinton Street, Binghamton, NY, on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 10am. A private crypt-side service for family at Calvary Cemetery will take place at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making contributions to Mercy House.
