Obituary of Linda B. Orynawka

Linda (Lasher) Orynawka, age 60, was embraced by heaven on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Clifford and Doris (Masters) Lasher; and two brothers, Jerry and Ed Lasher. She is survived by her beloved husband of 31 years, Leo; her brothers and their wives, Red (Anna), Dan (Sharon), and Chuck (Wilma) Lasher; her sister, Kathryn (Ryn) Lasher; her three daughters and spouses, Charis and Jared Zembek, Janelle and Alex Morgan, and Cara and Greg Barbieri; and grandchildren, Sade and Zeke Barbieri, Sophie Zembek; and several nieces and nephews. Linda was born on January 26, 1954. She worked at Broome Developmental Center as a nurse for over 30 years, where she adored her clients as if they were her own family. She graduated from Binghamton North High School and Broome Community College School of Nursing. She loved to garden, crochet, and spend time with her grandchildren, friends, and cherished pets. Memorial services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Sunday at 3 p.m. Rev. David C. Seaver will officiate. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Sunday from 1-3 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Linda may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson St., Binghamton, NY 13903 or the American Cancer Society , 13 Beech St., Johnson City, NY 13790.
