Imelda S. Bawas Obituary
On May 8th, 2024 Imelda Sales Bawas went to eternal rest. She joined her father, Paolo Sales and Mother Felisa Sales. She is predeceased by her sisters; Doris Elevado, Arsenia Bendaña and brothers; Rolando Sales and Simplicio Sales. She is also predeceased by her father-in-law; Teofilo Bawas and mother-in-law Regina Bawas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years Tito. Her children; Jonathan (Jodi) Bawas, Melody (Tony Sisombath) Bawas and her beloved granddaughter Elaina. Her sister; Eufemia (Lorenzo) Tacadena, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Imelda immigrated from the Philippines to New York in the mid 1970's working as a Registered Nurse. She continued her passion with healthcare as the owner/Administrator of - The Garden House for Adults - an Adult Care Facility in Binghamton, NY; working there from 1987 to 2023.
She always had a level of charisma that would bring to life any room she was in. This was shown in her deep involvement and many connections she made in the local community; whether with close friends and family, in healthcare, the local Filipino Association, or friends at Tioga Downs.
She always held herself to a high level of excellence in everything that she did and the memory of such a strong wife, mother, and friend will live on with all of us.
Funeral Services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 1 p.m. Rev. Janet Abel will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
