Obituary of Georgette Akel

Georgette Khair Akel, 99 of Binghamton died peacefully Wednesday February 19, 2014 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband George F. Akel. She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Ferris and Louise Akel, George and Sally Akel, Ron and Beth Akel all of Binghamton; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Nicole, Andrea, Ferris III, George III, Martine, Jeffrey, Philip; step-grandchildren, Kara Kovatch, Don Sweeney; 12 great-grandchildren; two step-greatgrandchildren; a sister Renee Akel; a brother Antoine Khair; three nieces, Yvette, Madeline, Renee. Georgette devoted her life to her family and was beloved by all. She was cared for by her family and very compassionate caregivers, Serena, Amy, Karen and Pam. She was a member of Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, Binghamton. Georgette would like to be remembered with prayers. Private Funeral services were held at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, 44 Main Street, Binghamton Saturday. Reverend Dr. David A. Drebert, Rector, officiated. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery Johnson City in the spring.
