William H. Loso died peacefully at Sayre Hospital in Sayre, PA on Monday, April 15, 2024 surrounded by family following a brief illness.

William (Bill) was born in Plattsburgh, NY to Oscar and Evelyn Herling Loso on October 26, 1940.

Bill was living in Sayre , PA at the time of his death having previously lived in Apalachin, Vestal and Venice, FL.

He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh and did graduate work at the University of Oregon and Binghamton University.

Bill started his teaching career in Carmel, NY and then joined the faculty at Union Endicott where he was involved in setting up the computer science program. Following teaching he worked as a computer programmer for IBM in Endicott until his retirement in 1996.

Bill's greatest loves were his family, devotion to his faith and the Lion's Club.

He loved entertaining his children, grandchildren and friends at his cottage at Lake O'Meadows. Many great memories are treasured of "Grandpa and Grandma Camp", Lions' picnics, Lake picnics and other memorable gatherings of family and friends.

For over 55 years he was a dedicated, contributing member of Lions International in Apalachin, NY and Venice, Florida.

His favorite motto exemplified throughout his life was "We Serve." Bill was a member of the Vestal, NY and Venice, Fl Elks Club.

While living in New York State he was a member of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Apalachin and St. James Church in Johnson City.

Bill was predeceased by his first wife Jeanette Morley Loso in 1995 and his sister Beverly Loso Brownell. He is survived by his wife, Ann Miller Loso, son, Timothy Loso (Val), daughter Carolyn Loso Norris (John), Dr. Mark Miller (Michelle), Michele Miller Kondrup (Dr. James), Donald Miller (Gina), and Kevin Miller (Elizabeth). He is also survived by twenty loving grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. James Church, Main Street, Johnson City, Saturday April 20, 2024 at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until 1 p.m.
