Gina Marie Gregoris Obituary

Gina Marie Gregoris, 59, entered into eternal life on April 3, 2024, after a long, private, and courageous battle with breast cancer complicated by Lyme disease. She was peacefully called home to be with the Lord surrounded by the love of her son, mother, brother, and sister-in-law. Gina is predeceased by her father, Daniel Gregoris; grandparents, Sebastian & Philomenia Abbadessa; and sister Angel Dupuy. She is survived by her beloved son Nicolas. She is also survived by her loving family: mother, Rose Abbadessa Gregoris; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel & Cindy Gregoris; her nephews, DJ Gregoris (Sonnie Day) and Bailey James Dupuy; her goddaughters/nieces, Gabriella Rose Gregoris, Delaney Gennett Dupuy, and Desiree Rose Dupuy; goddaughter Sydney Rose Lansing; and brother-in-law James Dupuy. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Gina graduated from SUNY Cortland and received a Master's Degree in Special Education from Binghamton University. She was a dedicated educator with a 29 year tenure between Binghamton City School District and Broome Tioga BOCES where she was a glowing and uplifting influence on thousands of students and faculty. The hurting and weary were attracted to Gina's kind heart, honest reflection, and sympathetic ear. Her heart and classroom door were always open to those in need. Gina was a woman of conviction, bravery, and humanity. Until her final breath, she vehemently adhered to her principles and boldly stood up to mandates, institutions, and social pressures to stay true to what she believed in. Above all else, her greatest achievement was raising her son, Nicolas, who was her life's joy, strength, and adoration. She had an unwavering and tenacious faith that sustained her throughout her life but especially during her illness. She would not want us to mourn her passing but to celebrate her life through the memories she gave us all. To honor Gina's request, there will be no calling hours.
