Ethel Molessa, age 98 passed away at Good Shepherd Fairview Home on Monday, January 29, 2024. She was born March 9, 1925, in Pittsburgh, PA and was a graduate of Binghamton Central High School. She worked for many years at NYSEG company. She was the fourth of eight children, preceded in death by Michael Molessa, Irene Aud, George Molessa and Virginia Little and survived by: Georgianna Howe of North Carolina, Mary Ellen Kane of New York, and Eugene Molessa of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family remember Ethel for her vivacious and infectious spirit and a generous heart that left an unforgettable mark on those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a proud alto in numerous choirs and chorales around the Binghamton area and loved good food. Her three loves were her family, her church, and her music.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Highland Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday February 8, 2024 at 12 noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Thursday from 11:30 until 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to Newman House at Binghamton University, a place that Ethel held dear. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may the memories of Ethel's life bring comfort to those who mourn her loss. The Mass will be livestreamed at www.sta-sp.org
