Lawrence "Larry" M. Dundon, 81, of Maine, NY
Larry Dundon went to be with the Lord in Heaven on the afternoon of January 1, 2024, following a nearly two-month stay at Mercy House of the Southern Tier. Larry is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James Sr. and Mary Dundon, sisters-in-law, Carolyn Dundon and Dottie Dundon, nieces and nephews, Patrick and Judy Dundon, Katie and Matthew Magda, James Jr. and Deborah Dundon, Deborah and Gary Beaton, Robert and Barbara Dundon, William and Dana Dundon, Kathy Babicz, Laurie Dundon, Teresa and Steven Halladay, Kenneth and Sherri Dundon, Elizabeth Compton, Kristine and Michael Rowland, Leigh and Todd Gorr, many cousins, great nieces & nephews, and treasured friends whom Uncle Larry cherished immensely, and his beloved Kitty Cat.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents William Dundon Sr., Wilma Dundon (Compton) and James Compton (step father), brother and sister-in-law, William Jr., and Barbara Dundon, brothers Richard Dundon Sr. and Michael Dundon, niece Renee Frost, nephew Timothy Dundon, nephew and Godson Richard Dundon Jr.
Larry was born and raised in Conklin, NY and spent a majority of his adult life in residence there, a place his heart truly considered home. He was an employee of Crowley Foods, Sheltered Workshop for the Disabled, and Felchar Manufacturing Co. Larry was also a member of The Elk's Club in Kirkwood, NY, where he delighted in the sense of camaraderie and in sharing his culinary expertise. Larry's interests included cooking, baking, fishing, gathering around the bon-fire in the best of company on a warm, summer night, and listening to music. Fleetwood Mac was a standing favorite, along with the movie "A Christmas Story".
Larry was the pulse of family get-togethers and was largely responsible for their organization. He will be missed by us all. His neighbor stated it best when he said, "Uncle Larry- There isn't anybody in the world like him." Thank you to George, for being there and for being so good to him through the years.
The Dundon family would like to express our warm, heart-filled gratitude to the supporters, as well as the volunteers and staff of Mercy House, who provided exemplary care & compassion in Larry's time of need. Thank you.
Graveside services will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 501 Fairview St. Johnson City, NY 13790 on Thursday January 11, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Clarence F. Rumble will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be made in Larry's honor to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 N McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.
