Obituary of Sharon R. Snyder

Sharon R. "Sherry" Snyder, 87, originally from Binghamton, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 28th 2023 in Crozet, Va. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Helen Ruthven, her loving husband of 51 years, Dale Snyder, and her siblings, Betty Rae Nealon and Thomas Ruthven. She is survived by her children, John (and Pamela) Snyder of Stroudsburg, PA, Steven (and Jennifer) Snyder of Glen Allen, VA, and Scott (and Laura) Snyder of Syracuse, NY; her grandchildren, Benjamin, Anna, Mary, Amie and Meghan. Sherry worked as a Customer Service Representative for Chase Bank. She dedicated her life to caring for her husband and raising her three boys. Her hobbies included knitting, painting, playing cards with friends, and attending her boys' sporting events. She was a skilled pianist who adored and received great joy from her grandchildren. After moving to Crozet, Sherry remained hopeful that a day would come when a physical catholic church would come to the Crozet community. Our Lady of the Rosary, a Catholic mission church of the Church of Incarnation parish in Charlottesville, recently purchased property within Crozet and the first mass in the new church was said on October 7, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sherry's honor to the Our Lady of the Rosary Capital Improvement Fund, to support ongoing renovations of the new church.
