Mary "Arleen" Wintergrass, 86, died peacefully on Saturday December 30th, 2023, with her two daughters by her side. She was predeceased by her parents Harold and Margaret (Brennan) Scully and her beloved husband Joseph Wintergrass. Arleen is survived by her adoring daughters and sons -in-laws, Karen and Ryan Foley, Amy and JP Costello; and her grandchildren Jack and Patrick Foley and Maggie Costello, all of Vestal. She is also survived by her brother in-law and sister-in-law, Matthew and Joan Wintergrass, nieces Cindy and Chip Fedish, Cecilia and Jim Howe, and nephews David and Andrea Wintergrass, John and Elaine Wintergrass; as well as several great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arleen graduated from St Patrick's High School in Binghamton, NY and Boston University, in Boston, Massachusetts, where she proudly earned her Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy and became President of her Alpha Phi sorority . She spent 42 years working as a Physical Therapist in the Binghamton area, both at Rehabilitation Services Inc. and Twin-Tier Home Health. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul/Blessed Sacrament Church. Arleen was a loving wife, adored Mother, and devoted "Mima" to her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than just being with her family. After retirement she volunteered her time at various organizations, enjoyed traveling and could often be found in August at the Saratoga Racetrack. She loved to babysit and attend her Grandchildren's activities whenever she could, and she enjoyed going out to eat anywhere and anytime her girls would call.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Bruce Bowling, at Endwell Family Physicians, and the staff at the United Methodist Homes; both the Hilltop campus and the Elizabeth Church Manor campus, for the wonderful care they provided these last two years while her health declined from dementia.

A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, Saturday, January 6 2024 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Vincent de Paul Blessed Sacrament Church, Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Arleen's memory may be made to Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main Street, Binghamton NY 13905.
