Frances Marjorie Lynch Murphy, 98 passed away peacefully at the Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal, N.Y. on December 17, 2023. Frances was born at home in Little Meadows, Pa. to Francis and Cecelia (Walsh) Lynch on April 4, 1925. Frances graduated from Oswego Free Academy then went to work at Anscos helping with World War II efforts, then after the war she worked as a receptionist. Frances married Raymond Murphy in June of 1950. They started their family and bought a farm in Warren Center, Pa. Frances was a great cook and baker and loved growing vegetables in her garden. She loved too read, play bingo and cards. She devoted her life to home, family and church. She had a great many friends throughout the years with whom she enjoyed spending time. Frances's family includes her daughters: Joan (Michael) Mesaris, Annville,Pa., Theresa (Gary) Friloux, Santa Fe, TX. and son, Michael (Linda) Murphy, Sumerduck, VA. Son-in-law, Raymond Hughes, Sayre, PA., grandsons Joseph Mesaris and granddaughters, Tricia Mesaris and Elaine (Zach) Andrus. Frances is also survived by her step grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Edward Lynch and Richard Foster Lynch as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she cared about deeply. In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was predeceased by her daughters: Kathleen Hughes and Jane Murphy, sisters: Jeanne Fowler and Eleanor Lynch and brother, Joseph Lynch, as well as sisters in law: Rosetta Lynch, Geraldine Jones, Nancy Lynch, Peg Lynch and Dorothy Lynch and brothers in law: Edward Murphy and Jon Fowler. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal, Saturday , December 23, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, Little Meadows, PA in the Spring. The family will receive friends and family at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton , Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M.
