Obituary of Donald J. Perrault
Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The universe cried a little when our sweet, gentle father Donald J. (Don) Perrault, loving husband, beloved grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2014. He died as he lived, surrounded by family and love. He is survived by the loving wife he honored and cherished for 63 years, Rita (Clark) Perrault. Don was born in Johnson City. After serving his country in the Navy, he joined Singer-Link for a 42 year career as an engineer. He was a devout parishioner of the Church of Sts. John and Andrew for over 50 years and a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Don will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and for being the "King of Puns". He loved to golf and bowl in his younger years, but considered his greatest accomplishment in life to be his large family. He loved and cared for us until the end, as much as we loved and cared for him. He was predeceased by his siblings, Robert (Ned) Perrault, Richard Perrault, Margaret (Marge) Brereton; his infant son, Mark Perrault; and lifelong friend, Anthony (Tony) Riley. He is survived by his sister, Jeanne Barnes; sister-in-law, Anna Perrault; and children, Michele Perrault and her husband Anthony Czarzasty, Mark and Helen Perrault, Leigh and Jim Van Woert, Rita Perrault, Gerald and Shannon Perrault, Kelley and Michael Kane, Cathleen and Daniel Eggleston, Lizanne Perrault Clifford, Nichole and Troy Williams; grandchildren, Michael Pessagno, Colette Montgomery, Michael Perrault, Brian Perrault, Mark Perrault, Corey Van Woert, Christopher Van Woert, Joseph Perrault, Jennifer Kushner, Katie Perrault, Madison Perrault, Casey Kane, William Eggleston, Mary Eggleston, Christian Eggleston, Gerald Eggleston, Grant Eggleston, Jordan Clifford, Perri Clifford, Celia Clifford, Donald Williams, Dolan Williams and Olivia Williams; great-grandchild, Hunter Montgomery; lifelong friend and best buddy, Anne Riley; numerous nieces and nephews. The family is immensely grateful to Dr. John Welch and Lourdes Hospice for their steadfast support and compassionate care of Dad over the last several months. A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Sts. John and Andrew, Vestal Ave., Binghamton Tuesday at 12Noon. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton Monday from 4-7PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in memory of Don be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 401 Hayes Ave., Endicott, NY 13760 or CHOW, 3 Otseningo St. Binghamton, NY 13903.
