Jody Lee Emmons Obituary
Jody Lee (Martinos) Emmons, passed peacefully on a beautiful Friday morning, July 14, 2023, surrounded by family. Jody was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Lois (Meade) Martinos. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bill Emmons; son & daughter-in-law, Joseph (Ashley) Emmons, daughter & son-in-law; Stacey (Morgan) Nelson, 2 grandchildren, Bryce and Nash Emmons and her beloved brother, Thomas Martinos, many in-laws, and a list of beloved nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Jody is also survived by her Van Dusen family, Diane, Mary Ellen, Joan, Nancy, David & Anne, her dear friend, Sonia Bednorchik, and finally her diner girls Katie, Debbie, Aimee, and Sharon.
Jody was an incredible cook and the owner of Jody's Diner. Her customers and their friendship she valued highly. She leaves behind many "adopted" kids who were welcomed into both her home and diner over the years. No one went without a meal or a roof over their head when she was involved. There was never a stray around her, whether it be human or 4-legged. Jody also leaves behind her beloved Yorkies, Whittle Bit & Lydia. She was never without dogs or horses in her lifetime.
Christmas will never be the same without her. We will miss her terribly but we know she is in Paradise enjoying a great welcome home party. Until we all meet again.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Cemetery, Silver Lake, PA. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m.
