Jo Pessagno passed away on June 10, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice, (Morrie), her son-in-law, John Choquette, her parents, Louis and Nevia Costa, her in-laws, Victoria and Eugene Pessagno, sister and brother-in-law Gert and Ed Bateman, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Adah and William Mazza, a niece Victoria Mazza, a nephew Daniel Mazza and dear friends, Tony and Phyllis Antos. Jo is survived by her loving family, son David Pessagno, Binghamton, her daughter and son-in-law Donna and Frank Longo of Endicott. Her grandchildren who meant the world to her, Taylor Pessagno Stein (Jared) of Los Angeles, California and Bo Pessagno of St. Augustine, Florida, her great-granddaughter Isabel Arden Stein, her daughter-in-law, Terry Ludwig Manders (Jeff) of St. Augustine, Florida, her step grandchildren, Vito Longo (Megan), Johnson City and Matthew Longo, Endicott, her niece Julie and James Goughary, Houston, Texas and their family, nephew Gene and Ann Mazza, Binghamton, and their family, her godchildren, Larry Macko and Stacy Antos Bowman, and very dear friend Viola (Vi) Macko. Jo retired from the Binghamton City School District to help care for her grandchildren and then went to work at Fabulous Finds. She so enjoyed the people she met and worked with at both places. Dave and Donna would like to thank the staff at Vestal Park Nursing, in particular nurses Nicole, Lisa and Cassandra as well as many aides but one in particular, Maria, who always took such good care of Mom. She will be so missed by her family. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300 Odell Avenue, Endicott, Monday, June 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at St. Anthony's Church, Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jo's memory to the B. C. Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave., Binghamton or St. Anthony's Food Pantry c/o the Church.
