Obituary of Elizabeth A. Florini

Elizabeth A. (Weiland) Florini of Endicott passed away on Thursday March 23, 2023 at Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Weiland and by her brothers Bernard, Joseph and Donald Dennison. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband James Florini. She is also survived by her 3 daughters, Geri Fenson (Steve), Cathi Heslin (Terry) and Karen Ryan (Paul). She was Grandma to 8 loving grandchildren and was Nana to 16 great-grandchildren, they were all her tootsiepies. She is also survived by her sisters Lucille Whitty (Thomas), Geri Gilmore (Joseph) and sister- in- law Shirley Dennison, her brother-in-law Nick Florini (Joanne), sister-in-law, Linda Roberts (Glenn) and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth (Liz) was employed by Lourdes hospital for over 35 years in the business office. She was a former member and director of the local theatre group, The Maryum players. She loved to play bingo at St Mary's with her friends, bocci ball and cards with her friends in the sunshine state of Florida. She was an avid knitter and would be happy to knit a blanket for you. The recipients of her blankets were too numerous to count. She was proud of her Italian heritage and her greatest joy was sharing her delicious Italian cooking and baking, especially on Sundays with her family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Lourdes 1 Ross and the Geriatric Department for the compassionate care they showed to Liz. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Court Street, Binghamton, Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A.
